Shropshire Built delivers commercial, municipal, and hospitality projects across the Golden Isles — backed by 25+ years of construction leadership and an award-winning residential portfolio. Owner-led. On-site. On schedule.
A general contractor with the discipline of public-sector work, the speed of commercial development, and the craft of luxury residential construction — under one accountable roof.
Retail, office, mixed-use, and tenant build-outs across coastal Georgia — delivered on hard schedules with the documentation institutional clients require.
Public-sector general contracting for cities, counties, and authorities. We work fluently with stamped plans, public bidding requirements, and right-of-way coordination.
Hotels, inns, restaurants, and destination hospitality — from ground-up to brand-standard renovations. Built to open on time and operate without warranty drama.
The residential portfolio that built our reputation. Award-winning custom homes across St. Simons, Sea Island, and the Golden Isles — every detail principal-supervised.
Period-correct restoration of Coastal Georgia's architectural landmarks — from coastal cottages to civic and church buildings.
For owners, developers, and public clients who want a builder's eye on the project from pre-construction through close-out — without the GC structure.
Public, commercial, and hospitality clients don't have time for excuses. Neither do residential clients building once in a lifetime. The way we operate accommodates both — without compromise.
Principals run every project. You'll never wonder who's accountable — or who to call when something needs a decision.
Full Georgia general contractor licensure, performance and payment bonding capacity, and commercial insurance coverage on every project.
We speak the language of stamped plans, ROW agreements, drop inlets, and inspector punch lists. Procurement and compliance don't slow us down.
Live project schedules, weekly owner reporting, and a trade base refined over two decades. Your project doesn't drift.
Long-standing relationships with the best subcontractors and suppliers along the Georgia coast — the people who actually show up.
Most of our work comes from past clients and referring architects, engineers, and owners' reps. That keeps every project honest.
A cross-section of recent commercial, hospitality, and residential projects. Detailed case studies available on request for qualified prospective clients and owners' reps.
We work with the people responsible for getting projects built — developers, owners' reps, public officials, hospitality operators, and discerning homeowners.

From 2000 to 2019, he served as Executive Vice President and co-owner of a construction company he helped grow to more than $153 million in construction revenue — leading commercial, public, and high-end residential projects across the Southeast.

Shropshire Built is a family business, and our family is grounded in our faith in Jesus Christ.
We didn't end up on St. Simons Island because of a business plan. Angela and I moved to the Golden Isles by faith — believing God was leading us here, even when the path didn't always look like we'd drawn it up. Behind all the planning we thought we were doing, looking back, it was His design all along.
We found our church home before we found our first home on the island. That order mattered. It still does.
Two passages frame how we try to work:
"According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it."
1 Corinthians 3:10 · ESVPaul calls himself a master builder — and he's careful to credit grace, not skill, for the foundation he laid. We try to hold the same posture. We're builders, but we're not the source of what gets built well. That awareness keeps us honest about our limits, about the people we depend on, and about the gift of being trusted with someone's home, business, or civic project.
"And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them."
Luke 6:31 · ESVThis is the standard we hold our work to. Not just what the inspector sees. Not just what the client notices. The framing nobody will ever see behind the drywall. The grading that drains the way it should ten years from now. The phone call returned the same day, even when the news isn't what anyone wants to hear. We try to build for our clients the way we'd want a builder to build for our own family.
We build for clients of every background and belief — public officials, hospitality operators, homeowners, developers — and we treat every project the same: with care, with integrity, and with gratitude for the chance to do this work at all.
That's the foundation beneath the foundation.
